Ever wonder what some of those Hawaiian words I keep using mean? Curious about who the heck those birds I keep referring to are? Well wonder no more, because here they are, in no particular order. If there is a word or term that I have not added, but you are curious about, please email me so I can add it.
Hale = house
E komo mai = welcome
Nīele = curious or inquisitive
Ohana = family (chosen or blood)
Pōpoki = cat (we currently have 2)
Mahalo = thanks
Kōkua = help
Aloha = definitions vary, see below for a few examples
Ono = delicious
Onolicious = super awesomely delicious, like my mac n' cheese
The Stork = the spouse, father of Chicken & Squab
The Squab = 1st born(male) child, my brain twin
The Chicken = 2nd born(male) child, my entertainment
The Flamingo = (male) best friend to the Chicken, current hanai (unofficially adopted) child
ʻApapane = the female creator of me, also the name for the Hawaiian Honeycreeper
My Feline Overlord = Mongo, my supervisor, the King of our castle, my favorite child
The Feline Underling = Kalei, the one who leaves fur "babies" all over the house
The Feline Interloper = Skip, my grandkitty, fur daughter of the Squab
CoW = Cave of Wonder, also known as the place
where I create/escape/hide from boys
Freeformedness = the concept of being able to do in the creating of things, whatever your heart guides you to create
(also known as "winging it")
