A day late & a couple million dollars short...

So, yesterday was the Stork's birthday...

Happy Birthday Stork!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As those of you who read my last post may recall, the Stork is the spouse/father of my children.  Unfortunately, most of the world cared more about yesterday being 'Talk like a Pirate Day' than it being his birthday, so he had to work.  We are also an ohana (family) with two male teens, so essentially we're broke & therefore could not afford much of a celebration.

However, the Squab, Chicken & myself were able to create a small personal art piece for him.  Fortunately, I am one of those annoying people who likes to keep several different greeting cards (though not as many as I'd like & no I don't have a file box for them, yet) on hand for whatever, so he got a snarky birthday card.

This being the Stork's first week at a new job, with crazy training hours that don't see him home until 11 o'clock at night, we were only able to spend 15 minutes together as an ohana to celebrate.  Enough time for him to unwrap his present & wish the Poultry a good day at school.  Unfortunately, his day went from tired to worse after they left, but that's another story.

So, long story short (too late), while they Stork was at work the Poultry & I made him one of my/his favorite meals, Schnitzel with sauteed onions & mushrooms, a scratch made Hunter sauce, sweet peas & potatoes with bacon, parsley & butter.  The Chicken also allowed me to help him make my famous Triple Chocolate Fudge brownies, which also happen to be a favorite of the Stork.

My point is, the Stork (who is already older than I) got older.  We really didn't get to see him, but we did nice for him anyway & when he got home, he was pleasantly surprised & reminded that he is loved.

Take time today & everyday, to make sure that the people you love know that you love them.  Even if you can't see them or talk to them, do something, however small, to let them know you care.  Not only will it mean the world to them, but your soul will glow with the warmth of your aloha.

Until next time me lovelies.....Arrrrgh!
