but a creative surge hit me as soon as the Squab left for school & I got caught up in it.

all you have to do is look for it. to let you know that I did not in fact forget to write a blog post for today until just now. I was actually busy all day. No, really! I absolutely had it on my mind the whole time I wasn't thinking about it at all. *Giggle* Anyway, I wanted to share this with you. It was one of the pieces I did in July, but have not previously shared. It's called "Ed". Because that's what it said it wanted to be called. Deal with it. I'll go for a longer post tomorrow, but right now I need to make some onolicious (very yummy) "healthy" pancakes for dinner. Because that's how my Chicken & I roll. (Or whatever the teenagers call it.)
Aloha until later, -Clare No, not a fat roll, although my ʻōkole (bottom) is quite ample. *wink wink* I'm actually talking about the whole regular blog posting. Must be the allergies.
Yup, yup folks! I've officially set a new personal record of adding a blog post FIVE WHOLE DAYS IN A ROW! Woohoo! Put your party hats on & have a seat. It really isn't that big of a deal, but I'm proud.
update on the piece I did when I was "Waiting for the Squab". So sorry, I blame everyone else. Because I can. Obviously the my more astute readers will have noticed that the new banner pic at the top of the blog page looks vaguely familiar. If you are one of those folks that doesn't recognize it, don't worry. I've been staring at it since I put it up there & it never clicked that I hadn't told you guys about it. So, to refresh/recap, the piece started out as a kamaboko board (click the link in blue above to see the original post). It was cleaned & sanitized thoroughly, then stained with alcohol ink. I'll go ahead & re-post the pics for you. So there you have it. Late, but finally posted.
I'm thinking of attaching some hangery type things, so it can be a door sign, but haven't decided one way or the other. It is currently chillin' on the desk in my CoW. Because I haven't decided if it's finished or not. Because I don't know if it will live with me or someone else. Because it hasn't told me what it wants to be when it grows up. Neither have I. Aloha hugs until later, -Clare Seriously, any of the pictures you see on this website that are blurry, unfocused, over exposed, under exposed or basically sub-par in anyway, I took them. Really, I do not have the eye of the Squab, who can snap a good picture blindfolded in the dark. ***No I am not biased in anyway, both of my kids truly are the best things to ever happen to this universe.***
It's 12:30 AM & I am still awake. Why (you didn't ask)? Well, because I am "Maum" (pronounced 'Mm-ow-mm') & my Squab is not home from work yet. Damned labor laws & seventeen year olds. (Funny how they can pretty much work 'em like adults, but they still have a midnight curfew.)
Yes, I have been one & I am sorry. Life has been happening, so whatever. You just have to go with it & make as lemon cake as you can. (You know, from the lemons.)
Anyway, I have been creating much as possible & decided I'd share with you one of the things I've done recently. With pictures. Like a tutorial, only not. I am pleased with how it turned out, considering it was a recycled materials project & I had absolutely no idea or real plan whatsoever. (Yay me!) Well, I'm up at 3 am. Again. Because reasons.
I have been trying to fall asleep since about 10:30 & I might have dozed off for an hour or so. But I'm up now & seeing as how it looks like I won't be falling asleep anytime soon, I figured why not blog. Aren't you lucky? |
More about "ME"Aloha my name is Clare! My main job title is Mom, but I'm also an artist, crafter, avid experimental cook & occasional rabid baker. I live in Idaho with my husband & two sons (the "we" or "us" part of this website), but was raised in Hawaii. Feel free to explore our pages as we grow & change. Mahalo! (Thank you) Categories
