Yesterday I found out that another of my high school classmates has passed away too soon. She was a beautiful soul who always had compassion & a smile for everyone. She could get wild & crazy with the best of them, but she also had more love than most people can even hope for. She was one of the very first friends I made when I transferred to my high school sophomore year. It was through her that I met many of the friends that I call ohana today. I owe her a lot.
Through the years, we will meet many people. Some will become permanent fixtures in our lives & some will merely stay for a short time, but all of them will have some impact on who we are & who we become. All of them will make some sort of lasting impression on our hearts/minds/souls, even if we don't realize it.
I learned a lot from my friend & even though we were never as close as some we were with other friends, I have always cherished our friendship. She was one of the best of us & I can only hope that my efforts to be like her have come close.
I have been very engrossed in my own little world lately, what with the boys' health & school issues, adulting issues (damned bills won't pay themselves), the demands of my Feline Overlord, my sis, then mum coming to visit soon & of course, the impending eighteenth birthday of a certain offspring. I have also been trying to take a few minutes a day to keep up with my mandalas & to create more for you folks.
I won't lie, I'm exhausted & stressed, but I want to make sure that you know that I still think you're AWESOME.
I'll leave you with a pic of the mandala I made yesterday after I heard the news about my friend. It's kinda sad & tear stained, but that's okay sometimes.
