Yeah, it's been a hard week already & is sure to only get worse as this weekend is the Stork's birthday & I not only have nothing planned, I also have misplaced the things I would need to complete anything if I had planned it. I've misplaced it all!
Yes, I write about things & it is rarely anything that makes sense at the time, but those of you who do comment seem to understand, even when I still don't after rereading a million times. So, I will continue to do this. I may never sell a single piece of art that contributes to the financial support of my ohana, but if my randomly rambly blog posts help even half a person, then I shall not stop.
Wow, that went west faster than I can tell cawfee I love it. Sleep deprivation, bringing you incoherent thoughts since the beginning of time.
Okay, the main thing I wanted to talk about was, um...crap, lost it again. Gimme a second, I'm sure it'll come to me. ***Thoughtfully sipping cawfee....***
Oh yes, the things! That's right, I'm trying something new this month-ish.
Something that appeals to my artfilled soul, but doesn't necessarily appeal to the resisting "lines" part of it.
Here's a pic/break up the ramble to explain.
I decided to give it a go, because a friend has started a mandala group on facebook & asked me to join. I've seen mandalas that others have created & can only in my wildest dreams, hope to create any as beautiful as theirs, but I occasionally enjoy adding a challenge or two on top of the already challenging life that is adulting. I've also been told that it can be a therapeutic, relaxing, revealing process.
Whatever, I'm game. Can't hurt to try & who knows, maybe it'll lead to the discovery of cawfee filled bubble delivering rainbow unicorns who love hugs. It could happen.
Anyway, so I've done three so far. Had been avoiding trying it for the longest time, because let's face it I procrastinate & I'm morally opposed to coloring within the lines. So sticking to the circular shape is proving a challenge to me.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not morally opposed to the shape of circles, I love them because round, but I also love freeformedness (I am officially making that a thing). I may start with the intent or idea to go one way, but nine times out of ten I end up on another planet with something resembling a drug induced interpretation of an eightieth (1/80th = Mathing) of a tiny speck of the original idea.
But I'm trying & enjoying. As I said, I've done three so far & kinda sorta did a fourth one, if you count using a picture of a floral arrangement I did for myself years ago, which I am, so yeah I've done four.
I am planning on trying to keep up with the group, as so far I am enjoying seeing everyone's work quite a lot. I may not share every mandala I create, but then again I might. It's been a challenging way to relax not just my mind, but also my emotions.
So, I'll end this monumentally long ramble by telling you I think you should try your hand at mandala making, because fun. And then I will leave you with bonus pics of the mandalas I have created thus far.
As always m'dears, aloha hugs,
-Clare
