Anyway, in the spirit of yay! I have to share yesterday's adventure with you.
I'm pretty sure I've never mentioned it before, but I love to shop in certain types of stores. No, not clothes shopping. I generally have no patience for that & tend to rush to get out of those types of stores. That's not the kind of shopping I'm talking about.
I'm talking about thing shopping. You know, like I'm shopping for the things. I'm looking for the things. Oooh look, the things!
While I generally prefer art &/or craft stores, I also adore HALLOWEEN stores, because um, Halloween. But stores that have a mix of all the things are among my most favorite.
Like Cost Plus World Market. (Henceforth known as CPWM.)
Seriously, this store is like a little bit of heaven to me. It is such an eclectic mix of the things that I could live there & be happy for decades. Really, chocolate, wrapping paper, cawfee, Hawaiian Sun drinks, picture frames, furniture, dishes, soaps....
Really, I love this store so much, they email me daily to come back. I buy a good portion of my holiday presents there. They send me invitations to exclusive sales. They send me birthday coupons. (Yes, I'm not delusional & I do realize that this is a sale ploy, but humor my ego a bit will ya?)
BIRTHDAY COUPONS
Yes, the evil geniuses at CPWM sent me a nice little coupon for my birthday. (The bastards!) They even gave me the entire month of August to use it.
So yesterday, the Stork & I ventured out to CPWM to use my coupon before it expired (oh perish the thought!). Dudes, they sell baskets there! And smelly soap!
Needless to say, I had a hard time staying focused to the imaginary goal I imaginarily set for myself. That of course was to quickly look at the things, choose a few & then leave. (Ha! As if! Now way, not gonna happen.)
Yeah, we were there for almost two hours. The stork eventually had to find a chair & read something NFL related while I wandered. (I must have been drooling, because there was a nice kid with a mop following me all over the store.)
Anyway eventually, after putting several things in the cart, putting them back on the shelf & picking up other things settled for just a few items. And when I say a few, I actually mean under ten things. (It felt like the universe had cracked due to the lack of more things in my cart, but I stayed strong.)
So, to finally arrive at the point, I bought these.
Aloha hugs until sometime that is not now,
-Clare
