Seriously just because we're moms & meant to be superheroes, doesn't mean we don't need some extra love every now & then.
So I forgot to post a pic of the nice surprise the Stork brought home the other day. To thank me for being second in command (answering only to our Feline Overlord *see chart*), cleaning up after him (including but not limited to bathroom messes, kitchen messes, garage messes, living room messes...) & most importantly, being mom to the two greatest kids a human has ever created. (That's right, I said it & I don't apologize one bit. I think they're amazing, there's no denying it.) ***He also may or may not have been trying to butter me up for something.***

It was 3 am when I remembered that I wanted to snap a picture of these beauties. If you're anything like me, when that kind of thought wakes you out of a sound sleep, you can't rest until you do the thing. Still, I think this came out pretty good.
So, I'm beyond tired & it was a very nice surprise when the Stork brought these home. (Maybe he isn't too bad after all.) Because if I hadn't already mentioned, I own teenagers. Teenagers are not easy toys to maintain.
For example...
The Chicken has this sinus drainage that is causing him to cough a ton & as any parent of an asthmatic child will tell you, any cough is worrisome. Especially those that can't be treated with anything other than over the counter cough syrup. Poor kid is so wiped from the coughing, he can barely sit up without running out of steam.
The Squab's killer migraine that had him begrudgingly accepting two pain shots, not only kept him down & sleeping all day yesterday, but has also sidelined him today. Speaking from experience, migraines like these are the worst; life sucking demons I tell you.
Yeah, so not much sleep here. I think I must have jumped at every sound, both real & imagined, last night. Of course it didn't help that I had one of those dreams that's so turbulent & disturbing, that the exhaustion I felt in the dream carried over into reality. Or was it the other way around?
Anyway, what was I trying to say? Oh yeah, mommies need extra love too. So the next time you have a few seconds free, do something nice for a mom you know. Don't save that crap for Mother's Day, do it often.
And don't think that because a woman hasn't physically given birth to, biologically contributed to the creation of, not raised or helped raise, or is an actual man, that she/he isn't a mom. A mom is anyone who gives the (more than just physical) things it takes to make a person feel loved, needed, wanted, valuable.
Yeah, go give someone some extra love today & I'll leave you with this awesome YouTube find. Because the reasons are becoming less coherent & I am going to take a nap.
