I rarely talk about my political or religious views, because I choose not to open myself up to the criticism or speculation of others. My beliefs are my own & no one's to question.
On this rare occasion however, I am telling you how I feel about one of these & I'll respect your right to agree or disagree, but I will not tolerate judgement or lectures.
Like the way my boys smelled after their first baths. Or how utterly in love with their little baby feet I was, until their little baby feet started running barefoot outside.
I've been trying to remember my grandmothers & the things they taught me when I wasn't paying attention. I've been trying to remember my childhood friends & the trouble we used to try to get into or out of.
You see, I've been thinking about my life, past, present & future. I've been thinking about the sacrifices others have & will continue to make so that I can live the way that I do. I've been counting my blessings & thanking all of those people; alive, dead or yet to be born.
I'm proud to be the granddaughter, daughter, wife, niece, sister-in-law & friend to a long line of men & women who have served in the United States Military. I am proud to be an American, whether I agree with the politics of the current government officials or not.
Aloha hugs,
