For many years now, I have been randomly challenging my friends on Facebook to try something different. For example, there was the creative writing challenge where each person was assigned a mythical creature & asked to write a short paragraph explaining why they thought it would be cool to be that creature. I gave each of them a link to a website that had a description & sometimes an illustration of their creature. The results were not only entertaining, but also a bit insightful into my friends' personalities & more specifically, reinforced why we are friends.
For those who participate in these challenges, there is the opportunity to be creative, to think about something other than everyday life's problems & to just act a bit silly again. I love it when other people join me in my random weirdness. It proves there is good in the universe.
So, I am about to issue a challenge to you, my faithful six or seven followers.
(I feel I must come up with a nickname for you, like Aloha junkies or something. I get back to you on it.)
First, go here & read Shani's blog post for today (August 15th): Stuff and Nonsense
Next, go collect an empty toilet paper roll & make something from it. Anything you can imagine, as long as it is child friendly, as the Chicken & Squab do occasionally read what I post here.
Then email me ([email protected]) or blog about it & email me. Take pics & I will either link to your blog or post your pics here. I'll do it as they come in, so no official deadline. Yay!
In case you're wondering, the inspiration for this came from a little friend I had for many years. He was a toilet paper roll made to look like the Muppet 'Beaker'. His hair was a mini pink Koosh ball & he was made by a good friend to cheer me up. I could never look at him & not smile.
Now, get crackin' & transform those toilet paper rolls!
