Seriously, any of the pictures you see on this website that are blurry, unfocused, over exposed, under exposed or basically sub-par in anyway, I took them. Really, I do not have the eye of the Squab, who can snap a good picture blindfolded in the dark. ***No I am not biased in anyway, both of my kids truly are the best things to ever happen to this universe.***
Warning! This post may or may not contain... Did you know that taking a vegetable peeler to a bar of soap is not considered "normal"? Shocking isn't it?
Just because I'm nīele (inquisitive), I'd like to know how many of you have been following my blog recently & have taken to my idea of looking for everyday joy.
So do me a favor if you have been trying it, drop me a quick comment on something joyful or even just a little bit positive that you've noticed & acknowledged in your life today. I'll start. I finally got to pre-order a book I've been wanting & found out that the author, a man I have come to admire, will be doing a US speaking tour & will be coming here, to Idaho! (For info on this awesomeness, click this.) Now it's your turn. Okay, I've never claimed to be hard to impress. Yes I have my standards, but I generally try not to expect too much, which has left me open to a world of wondrous surprises. While it is true that following this philosophy, I have also been disappointed & heart broken I have realized that there is more wonder to be had & that the bad things also have a way of adding to it.
So on that note, I will share with you my yummy good thing for the day. Please note that this does indeed confirm that I am fairly easy to please, which does not make me a "cheap date" or someone who does not need to be impressed. It just means that I choose to find joy whenever & wherever I can. I have to say, I love that Weebly allows me to write blog posts & schedule them to be published at a later date. Maybe this is the Universe's way of nudging me to blog more. Maybe it's just progress. Maybe I need CAWFEE. Who knows. What I do know is that I would like to share this happy pic with you. You know, because even things we don't necessarily like or want to happen can be positive. Hope you're all having a spectacular summer! Aloha hugs, -Clare For whatever reason (whether it's the materials I'm using, stress or you know, weather) the palms of my hands have had dry patches on them lately. This one is in the shape of a heart. It isn't as bad as the other hand, so hard to see on it's own, so I traced it with my favorite blue Sharpie. Seriously, there's a dry patch there. I promise. Remember my previous post, where I talked about flooding Facebook with positivity from our own lives? (No? Read it here.) Anyway, I fully intend to keep that up, just not on a daily basis, because let's face it, I have issues. So here is my next "positive" pic. Aloha m'luvs! This is one of the scars from my recent knee surgery (from my p.o.v.). Healing nicely & looking like a butterfly ("because a dragonfly's body would be longer" <<< says my argument with the Stork because my boys don't know the difference). Have I mentioned yet that I love my orthopedic surgeon? Call me strange for loving this, I'm damned proud. |
More about "ME"Aloha my name is Clare! My main job title is Mom, but I'm also an artist, crafter, avid experimental cook & occasional rabid baker. I live in Idaho with my husband & two sons (the "we" or "us" part of this website), but was raised in Hawaii. Feel free to explore our pages as we grow & change. Mahalo! (Thank you) Categories
